They extend for about one kilometer inside the municipality of Teulada, the perimeter of the military range of Cape Teulada. For this reason, access is allowed only in the summer tourist season. The dunes are the result of millennia of erosion by the sea and the weathering of the rocks of the headland. On the top grows a thick clump of prickly juniper; is also calcatreppola (ering or marine), the Euforbia, esparto. The panorama from the top is spectacular, but in times of overcrowding may be prohibited to climb to preserve the delicate environmental balance and conservation of the area.
